Nationwide Education is an award-winning independent website which educates young people aged 2 – 18+ on money, numeracy, careers, sustainability and safety in the home and on the roads, via games, factsheets, worksheets and films. The site has a wealth of content for students, teachers and parents.
Working in collaboration with The Transformation Trust, we help to run ‘Rock Club’ as part of Nationwide Education. The programme is designed to support teachers plan mathematic lessons in a unique and creative way. Pupils are asked to plan their own stadium gig over the academic year with the incentive of winning tickets to a real concert, Rock Assembly, which is hosted at Wembley Arena.
Rock Assembly and Future’s Fayre
At Rock Assembly there's a Future’s Fayre held prior to the main event where students and teachers can talk to many different companies about career options and job opportunities in a variety of industries.
Every year, we host a stall and our employee volunteers and members of the Emerging Talent team come along to talk to the students at the fayre. Our team talks to the students about our different Emerging Talent programmes, such as apprenticeships, placements and graduate programmes.
They also discuss career paths and explain about the different skills that can be obtained with choosing the programmes available.
Events and programmes like Nationwide Education help Nationwide work towards their aims to improve the everyday number skills of more than 200,000 young people by 2017. In 2015/16 it reached 58,000 young people.
