Equality, Diversity & Inclusion at Nationwide

At Nationwide, we don’t label people. What we do is offer a wide and growing range of inclusive networks for you to find help, support and inspiration and welcome participation in all our Employee Network Groups (ENGs) from everyone within Nationwide.

Diversity and employee networks

“ Our employee networks are integral to the Diversity and Inclusion agenda, and through regular network meetings and events and an online forum, they are a great opportunity for you to engage with and be involved in shaping and influencing the ED&I agenda here at Nationwide, wherever you're based. ”

Each network is sponsored by a senior leader and although each group has different priorities, they work together to share views, ideas and initiatives that help us develop a better understanding of the many communities that make up Nationwide. The ENGs support the delivery of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Strategy.

What employee Networks are there at Nationwide?

At present we have the 8 Employee Network Groups at Nationwide.

Disability Network- Enable

Supports Nationwide to become an employer of choice for disabled people who share our values. The network helps disabled employees to develop and drive their career.

Ethnicity Network- EMAH

Champions the voice of ethnic minority employees, providing opportunities to contribute views and opinions on how Nationwide can be even more diverse and inclusive.

Faith and Belief Network- FaB

Supports employees to bring their personal faith and belief to work, bringing greater fulfilment and enriching Nationwide’s culture.

Gender Network – GEM

Gender Equality Matters (GEM) is our gender employee network, renamed to reflect our view that all employees should have the opportunity to realise their potentially across the society. GEM supports Nationwide to attract, develop and retain talent. Through meetings and a range of information and educational events, network member share their views.

Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Network- LGBT@Nationwide

Supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees so that they feel able to bring their whole self to work. The network collaborates with the central ED&I team to deliver activity and events that inform, educate and inspire.

Veterans and Reservist Network

Empowers veteran and reservist employees to have greater capacity to become involved in Nationwide life and delivers events and activity to celebrate and enjoy armed forces heritage and culture.

Working Carers Network

Provides a safe space for employees to meet others with shared experiences and offers help and signposting to the relevant support.
